- Westley Matavao has been a stand-out athlete for many years! The UCLA Commit is entering her senior year at Mater Dei. They are the reigning State champs, looking to have another successful season. Matavao is a steady athlete who controls every part of the game either in the front row or back row. She is a player who doesn’t come off the court and plays a big role for the Monarchs.
- Iolani has four pasifika athletes who contribute a lot to a Top 25 team in the country. Some of these girls are continuing their volleyball career at Power 4 schools across the nation. Their talent, sisterhood, and hard work has made them a successful team and girls to keep an eye on this fall.
- Lucky Fasavalu has received a lot of national recognition with her ability to command the court as a setter. The Mizzou commit has been very lucky to have such an amazing group of girls to compete alongside with that give their cross town rivals Mater Dei a run for their money. A game to potentially watch volleyball fans is Matavao and Fasavulu going head to head. No games have been confirmed yet this season, but with Sierra Canyon being ranked #1 overall in the nation, and Mater Dei being reigning CIF Open Division Champions, this is a rematch the volleyball world is anticipating.
