Spencer Leniu Just Won His Fourth Ring. Now Comes Toa Samoa

Spencer Leniu has another premiership ring. Now, he has Samoa to play for. Just hours after helping the Sydney Roosters defeat the Newcastle Knights 19-18 in the 2026 NRL Grand Final, Leniu’s attention turns to the international stage. The Samoan international has now won four NRL premierships, adding his first with the Roosters to the three he previously won with the Penrith Panthers. At just 26 years old, Leniu has already built a resume that puts him among the game’s most decorated forwards of his generation.

But the next chapter is a different one. Leniu will now link up with Toa Samoa for the 2026 Rugby League World Cup, where Samoa opens its campaign against France on October 16 before facing Papua New Guinea and Tonga in the group stage.

Leniu has already represented Samoa at the international level, making his Test debut against England at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup. He went on to play all four of Samoa’s matches during that tournament. Now, he arrives at another World Cup as a four-time NRL premiership winner. And that’s what makes this moment special.

Samoa reached the 2021 World Cup final, and the 2026 squad will be looking to make another deep run. Leniu was selected as part of the preferred World Cup interchange in the official RLWC26 fan selection, alongside fellow forwards Heilum Luki and Terrell May. With the official team squads set to be announced soon, the anticipation is building for who will represent Toa Samoa on the world stage.

From four premiership rings to the Samoan jersey, Leniu’s 2026 season isn’t finished yet. Now, it’s time for Toa Samoa.
