SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The Tafuna Warriors made a statement Friday night, traveling from American Samoa to Utah and defeating East High 46–0 on the Leopards’ home turf.
Tafuna controlled the game from the opening kickoff, scoring in every quarter. The Warriors led 12–0 after the first quarter and extended their advantage to 28–0 by halftime. Tafuna added 12 points in the third quarter before scoring six more in the fourth.
East struggled to generate any offensive production throughout the game as Tafuna’s defense kept the Leopards off the scoreboard.
With Tafuna reaching a 46-point lead, the game ended with 9:14 remaining in the fourth quarter under Utah’s 44-point mercy rule.
The win gives Tafuna a 1–0 record to open the 2026 season.
The Warriors will remain on the road for their next matchup, taking on Mojave High School in Nevada on Friday, Aug. 21.
